Other viewers were truly miffed that the creators appeared to spend little effort attempting to hide the detail, which could also be seen in other scenes throughout the first four episodes of the new series.
“I wish they had covered it better - like put a fancy ear cuff up there or something,” one said.
Another added: “I saw another post where an actress’ cartilage piercing wasn’t covered or edited out during the garden party I believe and people were going nuts over it.”
In the fourth season of the much-loved Netflix series, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the family’s free-spirited second son, takes centre stage as one of high society’s most eligible bachelors.
Much to everyone’s surprise, he finds himself drawn to a mysterious masked woman, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). As their story unfolds, hidden secrets come to light, shining a spotlight on the rigid class divisions of high society.
Putting any editing and possible factual errors aside, 37-year-old Thompson teased to news.com.au that there are plenty of scenes coming in this new season that will delight fans - possibly a little more than that carriage scene between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) last season.
“Being in the carriage in the rain … It was so lovely and so well-written,” the actor said of his favourite scene which shows his character rescue his love interest from an unpleasant situation.
“That bit of like, two people sort of being aware of each other, kind of teasing each other a little bit, but also growing that kind of affinity,” he added.
“And to do that while driving a horse and carriage in the middle of the rain is just magic, movie magic.”
Part 1 of Bridgerton season 4 (episodes 1-4) is now available to stream on Netflix, with Part 2 (5-8) coming on February 26.
