But she now believes its her duty to speak on her dying friend's behalf.
"I feel like I have to be a voice for her now," Reid says.
Brown's California-based friend admits she never witnessed Gordon abusing Bobbi Kristina, but said her pal would FaceTime her every time she was distraught or "when something had just happened - or show me a bruise."
Police are still investigating Bobbi Kristina's final hours and Reid believes she can provide important evidence.
"There are things that I know that no one else does and I hope that by speaking out I can help the investigation in some way."
Reid also claims she tried, on many occasions, to convince Bobbi Kristina to leave Gordon.

"It was a desperate love. She felt like she couldn't do anything without him.
"She said she didn't blame Nick, she blamed his temper. It was just that he couldn't control it. She didn't think it was his fault."
Reid's exclusive interview comes a week after Bobbi Kristina's conservator served Gordon with legal papers, accusing him of abusing his girlfriend and stealing funds from her bank account while she battled for life following her near-drowning in January.
Just hours earlier, Bobbi Kristina's family revealed she had been moved into hospice care.
