A blogger who claimed to be Kim Kardashian's former publicist has apologised to the reality TV star after claiming that her marriage to Kris Humphries was a sham.

Jonathan Jaxson, who claimed he was Kardashian's publicist from 2007 to 2009, waxed to various media outlets last November that the socialite's short-lived marriage was staged, and that she only went through with the nuptials because of contractual obligations.

He reportedly told Los Angeles morning show Good Day LA: "It was obvious that it was staged ... There were contracts already in place for E! to film it. Everything was written down."

Kardashian swiftly began legal proceedings against Jaxson, while a source claimed that he was "never" her publicist, but that they had once worked together on a blog.

TMZ reported that Kardashian had made Jaxson sign a confidentiality agreement.

Her lawyer Marty Singer said at the time: "Everything that he is saying is false and nonsense. This guy is in it to promote himself for his 15 mins of fame."

Kardashian claimed that Jaxson had damaged her reputation and was after a minimum of $200,000 in compensation, according to TMZ.

But Jaxson remained defiant.

"My opinions regarding her wedding and divorce were just my personal opinions as a commentator at the media's request because of my previous working relationship with her," he told E! News. "Kim was a client and someone I worked with behind the scenes ... I have all the proof and I feel there is no need to further justify this."

The E! star's lawyers have now released a statement, saying: "Kim Kardashian is very happy to announce that she has reached a settlement of her claims against Jonathan Jaxson.

Kim Kardashian married for 'the right reasons'

11 Feb 12:01 AM

"As part of the confidential settlement," the statement continued, "Mr Jaxson has issued a public apology to Kim. Kim is extremely pleased with the outcome of the matter."

Jaxson said on his blog: "I wanted to apologise publicly to Kim Kardashian for any confusion that I may have caused by the personal statements I made recently regarding Kim Kardashian.

"I would like to further clarify that I did not have any first hand knowledge of Kim's relationship with Kris. Any statement I made regarding Kim and her marriage was my opinion only and was not intended to imply first hand knowledge of Kim's thoughts and feelings."

Kardashian filed for divorce on October 31, 72 days after she tied the knot with Humphries in a $20m wedding in Montecito, California.

The reality star recently hit back at criticism that her marriage was a hoax.

"Me being such a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly," Kardashian told US TV show Live with Kelly.

"Khloe and Lamar got married after knowing each other for a month and they're going on three years. My mum and Bruce after five months got married and they just celebrated their 20th anniversary. I fell in love and thought it could work just like the examples that I saw."

Kardashian then quipped that her divorce was "a bad business decision."

"If you really think about it, if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV, I'm a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer!" she said.

"This was a bad business decision, you know what I mean? So, if you really think about it, it doesn't make sense that everyone says that."

She continued, "I really didn't think that following my heart would create this much backlash."

And ... she doesn't sing a single note. It's all spoken word.

Lyrical highlights include: "I went out the other night, to, you know, dance with my bitches" ... "No-one is safe in the twittersphere anymore" and "I'll be damned if I end up in some late diner after this with last night's lingerie in my purse/ It's just a drunk text".

Check it out below before it's yanked (warning: contains swearing):

Update 2: This just in from Hilton:

"Hey guys, I'm getting a lot of tweets about this song that just leaked. No, this is not my new single. It's just a demo I did for fun with friends a while ago. My new single will be out in the next few months with Afrojack and a very special surprise guest. Can't wait for you all to hear it, such a fun club song! Love you guys!"

Even she's disowning it.

Update: The video leaked, according to the Manufactured Superstars crew, and will never be released as a single.

Hilton recently revealed that she's working on a new album, and has recruited party-rockers LMFAO to work on her big comeback.
