She said she assisted him up before calling emergency services who transported him to hospital in a semi-conscious state.
Doctors attending Aaron recommended he be put on life support.
“He’s showing a lot of improvement,” said Margarita who called her husband a “fighter”.
“We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered.”
A family source revealed to TMZ that doctors have since discovered a rare cyst on Aaron’s spine.
It is understood Aaron has been in hospital for five days, with doctors continuing to run tests to determine whether the cyst is benign.
According to Margarita, Aaron was a “little lucid” but largely unresponsive.
“I did at least get a thumbs-up out of him when I chatted with him, which was promising,” she said.
A GoFundMe page initiated by the Veterans Aid Network to support Aaron’s recovery, described his warm nature.
“Quinton is one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet,” the page read.
“He shows up for others. He encourages, uplifts, and gives freely of himself, often without asking for anything in return.
The page, which has raised nearly $68,000 so far, described the situation as “sudden, frightening and overwhelming” for his loved ones, who are “facing an immense emotional and financial burden”.
People reported this was not Aaron’s first health scare.
The 41-year-old, who has spoken openly about his struggles with obesity, was rushed to hospital in 2024 after coughing up blood and experiencing a fever.
Doctors believed he was suffering from pneumonia and Type A influenza.
In October, Aaron revealed via Instagram that he had lost more than 90kg.
“I am overwhelmed and blessed to announce that I have reached another cool milestone in my life,” he wrote.
“Today when weighing myself, I noticed that I reached the 200 pound marker.”
Aaron said he was only 25kg short of his 145kg goal weight.
The Blind Side, which was Aaron’s breakout role, earned Sandra Bullock an Academy Award for Best Actress.
