Ben Affleck's lawyers are threatening legal action over a magazine article suggesting he has struck up a romance with his children's nanny following the breakdown of his marriage to Jennifer Garner.
The Argo star hit headlines on Wednesday when a Us Weekly story alleged Affleck had started dating Christine Ouzounian, who was briefly hired to help care for the estranged couple's three children during a trial separation.
The report alleged the Oscar winner began seeing the 28-year-old romantically before he and Garner formally announced they were divorcing in June after 10 years of marriage, but Affleck's spokesperson told the magazine, "All allegations of a romantic relationship are baseless and untrue".
Editors ran the story anyway, quoting an unnamed source, who claimed Ouzounian believed she had found "true love" with the actor/director.
Now Affleck's representative is blasting the article's publication.
A statement issued to the New York Daily News reads: "The story is complete garbage and full of lies. You shouldn't be able to hide behind 'blind sources'. We are considering legal options."
