American singer Marc Anthony says the Beckham family feud playing out in public is “extremely unfortunate” but has avoided being dragged any further into the drama, after oldest son Brooklyn claimed Anthony had insulted his bride during a performance at his wedding.
A long-time friend of Brooklyn’s parents David andVictoria, the 57-year-old was brought into the ongoing conflict after it was revealed he had invited Posh to share an “embarrassing” dance with the groom, E News reported.
Brooklyn’s claims that Victoria had “danced very uncomfortably” on him during his wedding to Nicola Peltz, prompted a litany of internet memes about his mother and Anthony’s antics.
Anthony was hesitant to comment on the conflict, telling the Hollywood Reporter he had “nothing to say about what’s happening with the family”.

Anthony is godfather to Cruz, the Beckhams’ youngest son, describing them as “a wonderful, wonderful family” and adding: “I’ve known them since before the kids were born.
“I’m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out – but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth.”
In a statement last month, Brooklyn renounced his family and said he had no plans to reconcile with them.
He went on to detail the events of his 2022 wedding to Peltz, claiming Victoria had interfered in various elements of their nuptials, including their first dance.

“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned for weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he wrote.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.”
Reports alleged Anthony had asked “the most beautiful woman in the room” to come forward, shocking guests when it became clear he had meant the former Spice Girl rather than the bride.
Brooklyn said he had “never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in his life”, while a source told E News that Peltz left the room crying, eventually returning after she had “collected” herself.
The couple are thought to have been estranged from the rest of the family since early last year, failing to appear at David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May after they were refused a private visit with the patriarch.
