Away from the shiny lights of Los Angeles, the biggest names from the world of film braved the British weather to make an appearance at the 2015 BAFTA awards.

While it was mostly about the success of Brits on screen, there were a few international faces, with Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon both aptly opting to wear Stella McCartney to the awards.

We've run our eyes over the red carpet to share the looks we love, those that missed the mark and a handful that we're still in limbo over. We've also handpicked the best of the gents.

Must see looks from the 2015 BAFTAs

Best: Hannah Bagshawe looks lovely in this intricate soft grey Valentino gown and her husband, the very dapper Eddie Redmayne makes the perfect accessory in his signature velvet.
Best: What a ray of sunshine. Lea Seydoux looks gorgeous in this cut-out yellow draping dress. The red lip and side swept hair sing old Hollywood glam.
Best: It's fitting that Amy Adams opted to rock a white Stella McCartney gown. That statement belt and gold accessories are spot on and we love that she's gone easy on the makeup and left her red hot hair simple and sleek.
Best: What a dreamy, smoky coloured princess dress on Laura Haddock. There's a risk at looking too much like a prom queen when it comes to OTT tulle, but we think the Guardians of the Galaxy actress is pretty as a picture.
Best: What a glamourpuss. Holliday Grainger wearing Antonio Berardi.
Best: Julianne Moore screams screen siren in this plunging Tom Ford scarlet dress. Plus that face, and those lovely locks. Smokin'.
Limbo: Romola Garai excites us with this interesting Roksanda ensemble - the peach skirt, pressed shirt and colourful geometric shoe - all working their magic thanks to understated face and hair on the Atonement actress.
Limbo: We love this olive green colour on Sienna Guillory, and the lace detailing on the top half works well, but the dropped waist and kind of harem pant feel isn't very flattering.
Limbo: There is no doubt Reese Witherspoon looks like a fox in this plunging plum Stella McCartney dress, but we feel like we've seen this on her before. It's good to know what works, but we want Reese to mix things up.
Worst: While this is the best we've seen Keira Knightley look on the red carpet this season, we're sad to say the mum-to-be has missed the mark on pregnancy style again, opting for Giambattista Valli florals.
Worst: Olivia Grant has perfect alabaster skin, but this pale pink dress makes her looks ghostly.
Worst: Wow - there is way too much going on here, Hofit Golan. The thing we hate most about this totally tacky ensemble is the massive gold star on the front - what the heck? It looks like it's been placed there to conceal something too rude.
Worst: Peacock blue lacy fingerless gloves - we applaud Natalie Dormer for trying something different. However, what's really upset us on this look by the Game of Thrones star, is the thin black panels leading to her nipples - why?
Worst: Oh dear, Tanya Burr's look just yells dated in this daggy Jenny Packham dress.
A look at the gents: Douglas Booth - his cool moss green velvet jacket, his unshaven face and come hither gaze - hubba hubba.
A look at the gents: Beckham, handsome as usual in a classic Tom Ford.
A look at the gents: Cuba Gooding Jr - Take off the reflective aviators, take off that silly scarf and just look nice in your suit.
A look at the gents: Ed Norton - The suit is nothing that special, but Ed's well coiffed hair is worth a mention.

In the world of fashion terms London has a reputation of being the more exciting and innovative of the style capital cities.

But unlike tonight's Grammy awards which has a reputation for being rather eclectic; the dress code during award's season is a very formal one, leaving little room for adventurous style choices.
