The couple who tied the knot during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show have opened up about the unforgettable moment, revealing the marriage was genuine.
Eleisa “Elli” Aparico and Thomas “Tommy” Wolter married live on stage during the Puerto Rican superstar’s Super Bowl spectacular at Levi’s Stadium in SantaClara, California yesterday (local time), according to People.
However, some viewers wondered if the ceremony was a stunt.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, has received rave reviews for his 13-minute performance, a celebration of Latino culture, which featured guest stars Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
Five minutes into the show, Aparico and Wolter married in a glamorous ceremony, surrounded by dancers dressed in white, and an officiating minister, atop a platform that was modelled after a small outdoor plaza.
The couple sealed their marriage with a kiss as Lady Gaga serenaded them with a salsa arrangement of her 2024 smash Bruno Mars duet Die With a Smile.
Bad Bunny served as a witness to the wedding of Eleisa Aparico and Thomas Wolter during his Super Bowl halftime show yesterday.
Bad Bunny’s management confirmed the wedding was legitimate with the Baile Inolvidable singer serving as a witness and signing their marriage certificate, the Associated Press reported.
“After inviting Bad Bunny to attend their wedding, the couple was instead invited to be part of the Apple Music Halftime Show, where they were married live ... turning the moment into a joyful celebration unfolding in real time.”
“My heart is so full. This experience has been nothing short of amazing,” bride Aparico gushed in an Instagram post after the joyful event, according to People.
“Thank you for emphasising love, Benito, because it’s always necessary,” she continued.
Husband Wolter described the wedding dance as “unforgettable” in his own Instagram post, thanking Bad Bunny for the “beautiful opportunity of a lifetime”.
Wedding celebrant Antonio Reyes also took to social media after the ceremony, confirming his role, Fox40 reported.
“Now that the secret has been revealed … it was an honour for me as a Latino and a follower of Jesus to be present at such a historic moment. I have more to share with you.”
