Backlash begins as Game of Thrones kills off its best character (spoilers)

Spoiler alert: This article contains Game of Thrones season final spoilers.

Game of Thrones killed off one its biggest and best characters last night - and fans aren't happy about it.

In the final scene of the HBO show's bloody and brutal fifth season finale, Jon Snow was branded a "traitor" by his fellow Nightwatchmen and repeatedly stabbed in the chest. He bled out in the snow.

Snow has been one of the HBO show's biggest and best characters, often showing a morality few other characters possess.

Jon Snow died in season five's bloodthirsty fifth season finale.

But his death has left fans wondering if Thrones, known for pushing boundaries of on-screen violence and brutality, has finally gone too far.

Some threatened to quit the show after the bloodiest episode yet.

Despite the actor who plays Snow, Kit Harrington, saying he won't be in season six of the show, many fans have shared theories on what might happen to his character.

So my theory is they throw Jon Snow out into the night, leaving him for dead, but he's barely hanging on, and a white walker converts him.
