A Bachelorette eliminated after an abseiling fail has described her final date with Jordan Mauger as a "nightmare".
Sarah Wallace was eliminated from The Bachelor NZ last night after a joint date with Mauger and fellow contestants Gabrielle and Kate went wrong.
The girls were supposed to go abseiling onan activity-based date in Brisbane but Gabrielle and Kate both struggled with the challenge and Sarah backed out of attempting it.
Jordan Mauger has sent home Sarah from The Bachelor NZ, saying a joint abseiling date was 'telling'.
The Christchurch hairdresser told the NZ Herald she'd only tried abseiling once before, and it wasn't her idea of fun.
"Just sitting on the edge of that cliff and knowing how high up we were and seeing Gabs fall before me was pretty intense. I was like, 'You know what, I don't have anything to prove, I don't need to achieve this in my life right now, I'll sit this one out'.
"I feel comfortable in my decision. Two other girls had a rough time with that date. It was a bit of a nightmare to be honest."
Despite seeming cool about it at the time, Mauger later called the date "telling ... it shows me how they cope with their fears".
Wallace found herself in the bottom two at the rose ceremony, with Mauger choosing to send her home over Erin.

Despite the rough date, Wallace said it wasn't the reason Mauger sent her home.
"He accepted my decision, he handled it well. I said I'd prefer not to and he was cool about it ... Jordan would have felt that maybe our connection wasn't as strong and that would be the reason he sent me home."
Her ideal date would have been something "with candles" and a little more "chill".

Wallace said she felt a connection with Mauger early on in the show, but it dwindled as he chose other girls for one-on-one time.
"I absolutely thought there was a connection there, it just didn't eventuate into anything more. We didn't have enough time spent with each other. It's just the nature of the show, you have to be quite assertive in how you conduct yourself. You have to put yourself out there to make sure you get that time."
After her elimination, Wallace kept her cool and wished Mauger well on his "hunt for love".
The 30-year-old described herself as a "quietly confident girl" and said she was looking forward to celebrating her birthday later this month and finding someone for herself.
"I'm keeping a pretty low profile (but) I'm definitely looking forward to putting myself back out there," she said.
"Jordan's a good guy. I think we'll be friends in the future. We'll hang out."
Storm was the first to receive a rose during last night's rose ceremony and has emerged as a clear favourite. Eight contestants are left vying for Mauger's heart.
