The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra said that strong sales early this year helped offset a significant loss from the injury enforced withdrawal of singer Burt Bacharach from a February concert tour.
Bacharach was replaced with fellow American singer Dionne Warwick who did not draw the expected crowds.
