Behind-the-scenes talent in the music industry was honoured last night at the second annual VNZMA Artisan Awards at the Tuning Fork.
Ben Edwards won Massey University Best Producer for his work on Nadia Reid's stunning sophomore album Preservation.
Reid is up for three Tuis at the Vodafone New Zealand MusicAwards. Edwards has also worked with fellow-finalist Aldous Harding as well as Marlon Williams and Tami Neilson.
Clint Murphy was awarded the Tui for Best Engineer for his work on Devilskin's 2016 album Be Like The River, which peaked at No.1 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart.

Murphy has worked with Kiwi artists such as Opshop, The Feelers and Kimbra, but has also found success overseas for his work with artists such as Manic Street Preachers and Thunder.
Visual artists were also honoured in the awards, with Auckland artist Henrietta Harris winning Best Album Cover for her work on Grayson Gilmour's latest album Otherness.
Harris, who hand-draws her ethereal illustrations, has previously created covers for records and singles by Yumi Zouma, Lontalius and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. She was a VNZMA finalist in 2014 for the cover of Gilmour's album Infinite Life!

Meanwhile, the prize for NZ On Air Best Music Video was awarded to the prolific Joel Kefali for the video for Got It Bad by Leisure.
Kefali has been making music videos for 10 years since beginning under the moniker Special Problems, and has produced work for a number of stars, including Lorde, The Naked and Famous and Katy Perry.
The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards take place on November 16.
