Ariana Grande was attacked by a fan who rushed the red carpet at the Singapore premiere of her film 'Wicked: For Good' on Thursday, November 13.

One of Ariana Grande’s Wicked co-stars has slammed the “fan” that lunged at the singer at the movie’s Singapore premiere.
Confronting footage of the now-viral moment showed Johnson Wen break through the barricade, prompting Cynthia Erivo to jump into action, lunging between them and appearing to shout him down whileshielding Grande.
Security quickly took over the situation, arresting him while Erivo and Michelle Yeoh comforted Grande.
Following the incident, Marissa Bode, the 25-year-old actress who plays Nessarose Thropp in the movies, objected to the notion that the man that charged at Grande is “a fan”.
“‘But they’re a fan!’ Okay. Then they’re a fan and a loser,” Bode said on TikTok in an apparent response to people defending Wen’s actions.
She went on to note that in the past, she has discussed issues of “parasociality, especially at things like concerts or just when someone in the public eye is at an event, like people throwing s*** on stage mid-performance”.
Johnson Wen was arrested outside Universal Studios in Singapore after he charged towards Grande when she walked the yellow carpet with co-stars Erivo, Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum.
“This is what I mean when I say social media brings out the worst in people,” Bode continued.
“Oh, did you get your views? Did you get your likes? Guess what you also did? You made somebody feel incredibly unsafe, but just – no remorse. That goes over your head. You’re a bad person.”
She went on to say that she does not believe “women, or really anybody, should be expected to move with grace or respond with kindness when they’ve been violated in that way, and to expect that makes you a weirdo also”.
“The thing is, most of the time women within the public eye do respond with kindness because they know what the result is going to be if they don’t,” Bode added.

“These are people, they are not products, they do not owe you their entire personhood. And to be frank, if you don’t agree with that, you are not a fan,” Bode added. “[You are] someone who’s entitled that desperately needs to be brought back down to Earth.”
It comes after the serial prankster who accosted Grande at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore has been charged with being a public nuisance.
The Australian man identified as serial pest Johnson Wen was arrested outside Universal Studios in Singapore after he charged towards Grande when she walked the yellow carpet with co-stars Erivo, Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum.
On Friday afternoon, a Singapore court charged Wen with being a public nuisance, which may see him fined up to S$2000, according to the BBC.
