Lady Gaga has declared a "pop music emergency" and has rush-released her new single after it was leaked online.
The singer's first tune from her new album ARTPOP, entitled Applause, was illegally posted on the internet last week.
Something similiar happened to Katy Perry over the weekend with her newsingle, Roar.
Gaga was planning to officially release Applause on August 19, but she has decided to push the single's availability forward in light of the circumstances.
"Due to hackers an abundance of low/high quality leaks ... We issue this pop music emergency...monsters spread the word," Gaga tweeted on Monday.
The star is grateful for her fans and is excited about people listening to her new music.
"I Love being a popstar! We are cheering for you monsters, standing ovation for the worlds most amazing fans!'' she tweeted.
"Im on the radio i can't believe it! It feels like the first time! Thank you so much for your *Applause,* We are so happy you love it!''
Gaga will debut the single live at the MTV Video Music Awards at the end of this month.
The August 25 performance will mark a major triumph for the singer, who underwent hip surgery in February to treat a hip break, a labral tear and severe inflammation of her joints.
