Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s eldest child Maddox Pitt has ditched “Pitt” from his last name in the credits for his latest film.
The 24-year-old was credited as Maddox Jolie for his role as assistant director for Couture, a dramatic movie which stars his mother, according to People.
The film,which opened in French theatres last week, is the first to feature his new moniker. He was credited as Maddox Jolie-Pitt in a 2024 Netflix production about the late soprano Maria Callas, which also starred his mother.
Maddox Jolie was adopted by the former couple from Cambodia in 2002, when he was 7 months old. He is the eldest of six siblings, including Pax Pitt, 22, Zahara Jolie, 21, Shiloh Jolie, 19, and twins Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie, 17.
Page Six reported the FBI investigated the alleged confrontation and no charges were brought against Pitt as a result.

Maddox Jolie is not the first of his siblings to drop the Pitt name, according to E! News.
In 2023, video surfaced of Zahara Pitt asking members of her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College to address her as Zahara Jolie.
The next year, Vivienne Pitt, who is one of the couple’s biological children, was credited as Vivienne Jolie in a programme for the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
Shiloh Pitt legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie in August 2024.

Pitt was reportedly “aware and upset” when Shiloh Jolie changed her name, according to People.
“He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,” a close family source told the outlet.
“The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”
Pitt has reportedly made several attempts to rekindle relationships with his children, however according to Us Weekly, he only sees the twins “periodically”.
