Mitch and Janis Winehouse visited the shrine outside their daughter Amy's house in Camden, north London, Monday morning (UK time).
The grief-stricken parents walked around the two memorials made up of flowers, cards, paintings and photographs of the Rehab singer - who tragically died on Saturday at the age of
just 27 - and paid tribute to the fans who had come to pay their respects.
Addressing the crowd, a tearful Mitch said: "You people in the street, I can't tell you what this means to us - it really is making this a lot easier for us.
"Amy was about one thing and that was love, her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends and to you guys as well. We're devastated and I'm speechless but thanks for coming."
In addition to Mitch and Janis, Amy's on/off boyfriend Reg Traviss and her brother Alex also read the cards and letters that had been left for her.
Fans have been visiting the site since her passing, and Amy Winehouse impersonator Amanda Seal travelled from Luton, Bedfordshire, England, to pay her respects. She had been booked to perform as her idol on the day she passed away.
Amanda exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I do an Amy Winehouse tribute, so obviously she was very close to my heart. I did it because I love her. I love singing her songs.
"I've been in similar situations through my life and when she hit with her album Back to Black I could just relate to a lot of her stuff.
"On the day that she passed I had a tribute gig booked. I was just getting all my stuff ready to go to Peterborough and then my phone started going mad. When I found out I was in a bit of a state. I drove up to Peterborough which was about an hour away, and I was thinking of asking the guy if I could not dress up like her.
"I didn't want to act like her. I was keeping my fingers crossed people in the place would understand that. As luck had it, it was cancelled. I was grateful for that, because I would have found it really hard to do that stuff."
Another visitor to Amy's home, Catherine, 26, from Holloway, London, insisted she would always remember the Rehab singer for her incredible music rather than as the tragic figure who had been blighted by alcohol and drug problems in the last few years.
Catherine said: "She gave me so much inspiration. I absolutely love her. I'm a mother of four, my kids love her music too. I was literally devastated when I heard she had died. I'm just going to remember her as my pin-up chick. I loved her. She will live on through her music."
