Amy Schumer has insisted the future of her marriage has “nothing to do with weight loss or autism”.
The 44-year-old actor has addressed the state of her relationship with chef Chris Fischer following reports they had split, and she insisted her recent body overhaul and his being on the autismspectrum don’t play into whether or not they stay together.
She wrote on an Instagram Reel: “Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism.
“Fingers crossed we make it through. He’s the best.”
Amy also reflected on her weight loss after losing 22kg, which she insisted was “to survive” rather than simply “to look hot”.
“Sorry to anyone that lets down. I’m pain free. I can [play] tag with my son.”
Early in November, the comedian took to her Instagram Story to address reports about her relationship and simply said she and Fischer were “still married”.

Days later, an insider told People Magazine that the couple – who got married in 2018 and welcomed son Gene into the world the following year – were “privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have”.
The source added: “They are both committed to the relationship.”
Schumer marked their seventh anniversary in February with a cheeky joke referencing their prenuptial agreement.
Alongside a photo from their wedding day, she quipped; “7 years ago we signed a prenup and haven’t had to utilise it! Love you babe. (sic)”
