Air NZ calls for Cockpit Karaoke

Air New Zealand is calling on late night TV king James Corden to bring his "Carpool Karaoke" to the cockpit.

Featured on the The Late, Late Show, Carpool Karaoke has hosted a variety of special guests, including Michelle Obama, Justin Bieber and Adele.

"Hey, James. It's us. Your old pals from New Zealand," the airline said on a video posted on Facebook this morning.

It continued: "Mate, we've got a pitch for you. (Lol, pitch. See where we're going with this.)"

"Picture this: You. Us. Hashtag views. Hashtag lols. #CockpitKaraoke."

Earlier this month, Corden apologised after calling New Zealand "a little bit boring" and declared that he was "in love" with the country.

It's not the first time Air New Zealand has attempted to woo a celebrity to appear in its star-studded safety videos.

Last year, Taylor Swift was approached to star in a video after she made a surprise appearance in Auckland to film a music video.

Unfortunately the idea didn't make it "out of the woods", with Air New Zealand's latest video starring Anna Faris and Rhys Darby instead.
