Adele makes an insane $29 million a year - without even working

She may be enjoying a five-year break from music to spend time with her young son, but it seems the time out is having no effect on Adele's finances.

The star has retained her position as Britain's richest young star, and in fact, increased her wealth from $258million to $288million in the past year despite not releasing any new music, the DailyMail reports.

She ended a world tour at Wembley Stadium last summer, earning $82million for the sell-out gigs.

And despite releasing her last album, 25, in 2015, she is still raking in millions in record sales.

The 30-year-old singer has one son, Angelo, six, with her charity boss husband Simon Konecki, 44.

She has taken time off work to spend time with her family, but there are now rumours of a $43million year-long Las Vegas residency.

And the family have been making use of their fortune, buying a $12.7million mansion in Beverly Hills, boasting six bathrooms and a swimming pool.

She has also amassed an impressive property portfolio in Britain, including two homes in Kensington, West London, worth $21million, and a $4.9million seaside pad in Hove, East Sussex.

Second in Heat magazine's annual guide to Britain's wealthiest 30 people aged 30 and under is Ed Sheeran, whose fortune increased by $82million.

The songwriter, 27, is estimated to be worth $184.2million, up from $101.9million, thanks to bumper sales of his third album Divide, with more than six million copies sold. His two-year world tour brought in ticket sales of $441million.

Sheeran knocked Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe into third place.
