Adele calls Glastonbury 'the best moment of my life'

Adele has faced her fear and conquered Glastonbury, headlining at the festival on Saturday night.

The Hello singer has previously sworn to never play Glastonbury on account of the massive crowds, and told her audience she'd been bursting into tears for the last "two or three days".

She said: "Glastonbury means the world to me...I've always wanted to do this my whole life, but I was too scared".

But speaking to a packed audience, she did it anyway.

"I bet you 50 quid I'll fall over tonight. I'm sure you're aware I don't have many upbeat happy songs which is why some people were complaining. I'm here for an hour and a half and I'm not going anywhere, so let's be miserable together," she said.

Adele opened with Hello, changing a line to "I'm in Glastonbury dreaming about who I used to be" and before launching into the powerful chorus, she muttered "f*****g hell".

But by the end of her set, Glastonbury had won the singer over.

She said: "I didn't want to come on and now I don't want to go off. This is surreal. This is the best moment of my life. You can feel it in the earth here."
