This Korean beef bowl is actually a "cheater" recipe; a twist on a Korean dish called bulgogi. Bulgogi is traditionally made with marinated seared steak. This beef mince version is much faster, extremely delicious, and very inexpensive to make!
Ingredients
| ⅓ cup | Brown sugar |
| ¼ cup | Soy sauce |
| 1 Tbsp | Sesame oil |
| 1 tsp | Chilli flakes |
| ½ tsp | Crushed ginger |
| 1 Tbsp | Vegetable oil |
| 450 g | Beef mince (Main) |
| 2 | Spring onions |
| 1 handful | Chopped fresh coriander |
| 1 Tbsp | Chilli flakes |
| 1 Tbsp | Toasted sesame seeds |
| 1 cup | Cooked rice (Main) |
Directions
- In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, chilli flakes and ginger. Chop spring onion, reserve chopped green ends for garnish.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks; drain excess fat. Stir in soy sauce mixture and spring onion until well combined, allowing to simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice and garnish with green spring onion ends, coriander chilli flakes and sesame seeds.
