- Melt butter in a large saucepan and gently cook onion, garlic and bacon until onion is tender.
- Peel potatoes, then finely chop one and grate the other two. Add potatoes to the pan and mix well. Add milk and bring to a simmer, cooking potatoes until they are tender.
