Really rather indulgent way to cook potatoes, so simple and reminiscent of a chowder in flavour...
Ingredients
5 medium | Potatoes, Washed but not peeled (Main) |
1 large | Onions |
8 whole | Anchovy fillets, Feel free to add more if you are a real anchovies lover.... |
500 ml | Cream |
200 g | Breadcrumbs |
50 g | Tasty cheese, Grated |
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 180C. Use a pie dish or pan with high sides.
- Thinly slice the potatoes and onion. Completely cover the base of the dish with a layer of finely sliced potatoes- then seperate a couple of onion slices and loosely scatter over the potatoes. Repeat this process all the way to the top of the dish (or until you have used all the potatoes), stopping about halfway to add in the anchovies into one of the layers.
- Add all of the cream and then top with the breadcrumbs and cheese.
- Bake until the potatoes are cooked through (use a skewer to test).
