25 g | Butter |
2 cups | Self raising flour |
1 tsp | Baking powder |
½ cup | Cream |
½ cup | Water |
2 Tbsp | Milk |

- Preheat oven to 220 degC. Sift flour and baking powder in a bowl. Grate cold butter into the flour and quickly rub with fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in cream and water. Using a knife quickly mix to a soft dough. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently roll into a rectangle.
- Cut into nine pieces and place close together on a cold tray. Brush scones with milk and bake for 12 minutes until golden.
