It combines the gamey flavour of venison overlaid with the sweet taste of chocolate and the spicy tang of chilli.
Ingredients
1 bag | Baby spinach |
¼ cup | Milk |
1 to taste | Salt and freshly ground black pepper |
2 steaks | Venison (Main) |
1 bunch | Asparagus |
4 | Agria potatoes |
2 sprigs | Mint |
1 serving | Chilli flakes, optional |
Sauce
50 g | Chilli chocolate (Main) |
25 g | Butter |
¼ cup | Water |
Directions
- Boil potatoes then mash with spinach and milk, salt and pepper. Keep warm.
- Melt butter and chilli chocolate together, keep warm.
- Fry the Silver Fern Farms venison for 3 minutes on each side with a touch of oil
- Meanwhile boil asparagus for 4 minutes
- To serve make bed of mashed potatoes on the plates and place one steak on each bed. Spoon on chocolate chilli sauce and garnish with fresh mint. Serve asparagus on the side. optional chilli to taste
