|2 slices||Ham (Main)|
|4 slices||Gruyere cheese|
|½ cup||Whole milk|

- Lightly butter bread. Sandwich the ham and gruyere cheese between slices of bread to make two sandwiches.
- Place egg and milk in a bowl, season with salt and pepper and beat with a fork to combine. Dip sandwiches into egg mixture, just enough for the bread to lightly soak up the mixture.
- Heat a large nonstick frying pan over a medium heat. Add a film of oil to the pan, then add sandwiches and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Cut sandwiches in half to serve while hot.
