- Thaw pastry and unroll on to a baking tray. Cut to fit the tray if necessary. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 220 degrees C for 15 minutes.
- Purée canned apple in a food processor. Wash whole apples. Cut into quarters and remove seeds. Slice apples finely. Melt butter in a large frying pan. Add apple slices and cook for 2 minutes. Sprinkle over sugar. Gently turn apple slices until soft. Cool. Spread apple purée over pastry base. Place apple slice mixture on top.
- Whip cream and apple syrup together and serve with the tart.
