February 2-5 Put your New Year's resolutions into practice at Wanderlust Great Lake Taupo, the four-day mindful livingfestival at Wairakei Resort. As well as yoga, meditation, musicand speakers there will be, of course, deliciously healthy food. February 9-12 Celebrate the Year of the Rooster and take the family out for Chinese at this year's Auckland Lantern Festival at Auckland Domain. Take your pick from the large array of food stalls and eat against the magical backdrop of hundreds of lanterns.

February 25-26 One for American barbecue fans — Meatstock— the music and meat festival at ASB Showgrounds, Auckland. Barbecue food trucks, beer, and barbecue and butchery competitions, plus lots more.
March 4 and 5 Head out of town for the second Matakana Wine, Beer and Food Festival at Matakana Country Park. As well as entertainment, expect stalls from local wineries, craft brewers, restaurants, cafes and artisan food producers.
