Nottinghamshire captain Dan Christian suffered an unexpected a black eye while receiving England's T20 competition trophy yesterday.
The Australian all-rounder helped lead his side to victory in the NatWest T20 Blast final over the Birmingham Bears but then copped a trophy to the eye during the award presentation.
Christian postedan image on Twitter with his winner's medal in his mouth: "That's why you play. Thanks to the presentation lady for the black eye!"
Black Caps spin bowler Ish Sodhi also picked up a winners' medal with New Zealand teammates Colin de Grandhomme, Jeetan Patel and Grant Elliott on the losing side.
