Wiri port near

Ports of Auckland says its Wiri inland port in South Auckland is on schedule for completion in January.

Two of the three rail siding tracks are in place and work on the concrete hardstand is 50 per cent complete. Each of the three sidings is capable of taking 22 wagons.

Rival Port of Tauranga has had an inland port at Southdown in Auckland for many years.
