A Wellington construction company has been fined almost $40,000 and ordered to pay more than $58,000 in reparations to a contractor injured in a fall.
McKee-Fehl Constructors Ltd was sentenced in Wellington District Court on Wednesday over an incident at a demolition site in March 2016.
The worker fell 3.9 metres on to a concrete floor and received significant head injuries.
The company was fined $39,500 and ordered to pay reparations of $58,421.
WorkSafe's investigation found that, although workers were using a fall restraint harness system on site, the supervision and training of the harness use was inadequate.
