Auckland entrepreneur Eric Watson's Cullen Investments is to acquire the 40 per cent of Blue Star Business Solutions it does not already own from US Office Products.
Cullen said the deal, for an undisclosed price, meant it would hold 100 per cent of Blue Star's information technology and telecommunications companies.
These
included gen-i, Cogent Communications, Ubix Document Solutions, Hart Candy, Auldhouse Computer Training and Leasing Solutions.
Mr Watson said the individual companies could now grow with clear direction and focus under the control of a single shareholder.
"It will also make it easier to expand the businesses both operationally and geographically, something which would have been difficult under the previous ownership structure."
Mr Watson said the acquisition, alongside Cullen's other technology and telecommunications investments, gave the company an edge in the "engine-room" products and services of the new economy.
