A popular brand of vacuum cleaner has been voluntarily recalled because it could potentially cause burns or electric shocks.
The voluntary recall of the Shark Rocket Ultra-Light vacuum cleaner, announced today, is due to an issue with the cord assembly of the model.
It is believed the issue could leadto cord failure, or potentially cause burns or electric shocks to those who use it.
Shark Rocket Ultra-Light model HV300NZ vacuum cleaners manufactured from January 16 to November 15 last year, with a production code in the range of 0314A through to 4614A, were affected by the recall.
Consumers who owned this model have been encouraged to unplug their cleaner, and to not use it again until it had been repaired.
All affected units of Shark Rocket Ultra-Light vacuum cleaners have now been withdrawn from sale.
Two other models of Shark vacuum cleaners have also been recalled at the same time.
The Shark Navigator Lift-Away (NV350NZ), manufactured before October 18 last year, and the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional (NV356NZ) also require a cord and plug replacement.
Consumers were advised to visit www.sharkclean.co.nz for guidance on identifying affected models, and for instructions on how to return them for repair.
