Virtual-reality headhunting coup for Nextspace

Software developer Right Hemisphere has lured home an expatriate virtual reality expert to head its new graphics development laboratory, Nextspace, in Auckland.

Roy Davies is returning from Sweden, where he established a research-focused virtual reality centre at the University of Lund, to manage Nextspace.

The lab will research and develop software, particularly in three dimensional visualisation and imaging, and also create commercial applications.

The not-for-profit company aims to establish links with New Zealand universities and other research organisations, and also tap into a global customer base.
