An assortment of business representatives from Vietnam are using the visit to New Zealand to sign the Trans Pacific Partnership as an opportunity to explore trade opportunities.
A number of business and trade directors from Vietnam are holding a trade networking opportunity in Auckland this morning, ending with the signingof cooperation arrangements and a memorandum of understanding.
A programme for the event says Trade Minister Todd McClay is the "guest of honour" at the event.
Alister Lawrence, chairman of the New Zealand Association of South East Asian Nations Business Council (ANZBC), will also be present.
The director of the Asia-Pacific department of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Vietnam will be explaining to guests the foreign investment environment in Vietnam.
Cooperation arrangements will be signed between the Vietnam trade promotion agency VIETRADE and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and VIETRADE and ExportNZ. A Memorandum of Understanding will also be signed between VIETRADE and ANZBC.
The Trans Pacific Partnership is due to be signed tomorrow in Auckland.
