Twelve New Zealand technology companies have today been selected to help connect schools to the Network for Learning - infrastructure that offers free, uncapped high speed internet.
More than 700 schools are due to be connected to the Crown-owned internet network by next year and all schools in the country should be able to hook into the infrastructure by the end of 2016.
Over 20 schools are using the network now.
Following a tender process, the network today named 12 companies which will help connect up school part and form part of the project's IT panel.
The companies selected are Aiscorp ,Cyclone Computers, Glenn Cook Technologies, i-COM, IPC Computer Solutions, New Era IT, Norrcom, RCG Creations, Smartcom, Technology Centre, TTS and Watchdog.
