Pip Widdon was selected from more than 200 New Zealand entrants for the Big Break Project.
University of Canterbury commerce student Pip Widdon crosses the Ditch today to compete in a transtasman business challenge with A$20,000 ($24,986) up for grabs.
Widdon, 25, was selected from more than 200 local entrants
in the Big Break Project, run by accounting body CPA Australia. The competition aims to solve real-world business problems facing the Make-A-Wish charity, which helps children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The contest's local leg involved students presenting an analysis of Make-A-Wish's business position, but tomorrow Widdon will put forward a plan for the charity to develop a sustainable fundraising model.
She believes her understanding of both the New Zealand and Australian markets could give her an edge. "Other [entrants] may just be focused on Australia." Hamish Fletcher
