AUT Technology Park capped a successful year last night with a ceremony celebrating the success of three companies graduating from its incubator scheme.
Software engineering firm WebSol and wireless application firms Parochus and GeoVector have achieved the goals of attracting at least $500,000 in investment and recording significant
increases in turnover and staff numbers.
They qualify for the "high-growth company" label and leave the park to set up on their own.
Chief executive Johnathan Kirkpatrick said the Government had made it clear it wanted 20 high growth companies to emerge each year from the country's business incubators.
When companies enter the AUT incubator they get access to a serviced office, IT infrastructure, lawyers, accountants, business mentoring, networking and the chance to hook into the Park's networks in Singapore.
With 12 companies being incubated, he was looking forward to producing more success stories.
