Body1: The search for finalists in the 2002 WestpacTrust Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards is over.
Eight judges have sifted through a record number of 90 entries this year to pick the finalists in each category.
Finalists will now be evaluated to decide North Shore City's best businesses. Winners will
be announced at Takapuna's Bruce Mason Centre on August 29.
Convener of judges Derek Dallow said a broad range of businesses from internet service wholesaling to road construction, tourism and packaging.
ntesome of the finalist businesses were established in the past five years, whereas others had been based in North Shore City for 20 years or more.
Among them, the 27 business finalists employ 964 full-time and 72 part-time staff.
The finalists are:
* AC Blackmore Excellence in Service Delivery Award: Pinehurst School, Smith & Davies, TalkTactics NZ, Unique NZ Education Services.
* Massey University Excellence in Technology Award: E Products NZ, Envision Presentations, Orcon Group.
* Ancare NZ Excellence in Innovation Award: Adfit Membership, Envision Presentations, Tubepack.
* Skill New Zealand Excellence in Workplace Training Award: Apprenticeship Training Trust, Central Office Supplies, Giltrap Motors, Total Prep and Coatings.
* Telecom Local Directories Best Emerging Business Award: Adfit Membership Services, Cellect , Device Technologies NZ, Hillside Building Supplies.
* Actionmail & Alliance Construction Excellence in Marketing Award: Cellect, Heletranz, Wet & Forget
* North Shore Times Advertiser Community Contribution Award: Bartercard NZ, Bruce Mason Centre, Mairangi Arts Centre Trust.
* TMP Worldwide Employer of Choice Award: 3M New Zealand, Central Office Supplies, Giltrap Motors.
* Smales Farm Excellence in Environmental Management Award: Eco Insulation, Forest Roading Services, Interface Agencies.
* ACC ThinkSafe Work Safety Award: Marine Education & Recreation Centre, Smith & Davies, Underground Vision.
Category winners will be eligible for the ultimate accolade - the WestpacTrust Supreme Business Excellence Award.
