Entries for the WestpacTrust Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards open today.
The awards, now in their fifth year, acknowledge North Shore City businesses that have demonstrated outstanding performance and business excellence.
Enterprise North Shore general manager Terry Hoskins says each year's awards highlight a new stage in the development
of the North Shore economy.
"Our finalists and winners from past years take great pleasure from their efforts in the awards and the recognition they receive from the local community and stakeholders.
"Every year, the awards provide new levels of excellence which we all strive to achieve."
The winner of last year's supreme award, Ancare NZ, demonstrates the focus on business excellence encouraged by the awards.
Ancare, started 17 years ago in Birkenhead, has become a major animal health business and its brands are now better known outside North Shore City than within.
Its market includes veterinarians and farmers and its products successfully compete against those of many of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies.
The business excellence awards have the support of the Mayor of North Shore City, George Wood.
"The awards bring together the business community and help feed and sustain economic growth on the North Shore," he says.
This year the awards include 10 performance categories with support from leading businesses and organisations. They are:AC Blackmore Excellence in Service Delivery Award.
