Same troubles for small businesses all over

Some things are the same all over - in this case, the difficulties faced by small businesses.

Martin Mouque, who works for small English company Cole's Traditional Foods, says Government regulations and tax systems are the biggest barriers faced by the SME sector in Britain. Sound familiar? It should, because those things are the most cited by New Zealand companies, too. "It's the same all over the world," Mouque said.

Cole's products - puddings and cakes - were on display last night at a showcase of British food and drink hosted by the British Consulate-General. The company is looking to break into the New Zealand market.
