Auckland favourite Pandoro Panetteria has been bought by established breadmaker Malcolm North - but he has no plans to change the products.
"I think I'd be murdered if I changed anything," North said. "Pandoro's product range and baking processes will remain the same."
He says he will develop the
business, but stay true to its artisan baking approach.
Under the deal - the purchase price was not disclosed - Pandoro founders Kaye and Richard Tollenaar will retain an involvement in the company they started in Parnell in July 1992.
They will continue managing the company for the next 12 months.
The bakery now has several retail outlets in Auckland and Wellington and supplies the wholesale market.
North, a breadmaker, pastry cook and cake baker for 25 years, founded North's Breads with wife Alana.
They sold North's Breads to Allied Foods 11 years ago, but kept the ownership of North's Bun Company.
