Entries are being sought for the 2004 Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards.
Manukau City is home to over 15,000 small to medium-sized businesses and the awards offer them the prospect of being recognised for the impact they have on the local economy, said the Mayor of Manukau, Sir Barry Curtis.
There are
13 awards categories, honouring businesses that have demonstrated outstanding performance and business excellence as well as making a positive contribution to the prosperity of the Manukau region.
Last year's Westpac Manukau Business of the Year Award winner was Epic Packaging, based at Airport Oaks.
Managing director of Epic Packaging, Mike Markham, said the publicity gained from winning three awards was greater than anticipated, and definitely aided sales growth.
"We put considerable effort into the presentation of our entry and it made us look at our company from a different perspective.
"I would encourage companies to enter, and also commend the sponsors, organisers and judges for the excellent assistance, advice and organisation," he said.
The winner will be announced at a gala evening on September 8.
