Wellington entrepreneur Jeremy Moon, whose Icebreaker brand is a world leader in merino adventurewear, will be the keynote speaker at a Business Club forum in Auckland next Thursday.
Moon has achieved the dream of many businesses - developing a new idea that captures the best of what New Zealand can offer
the world and then successfully taking it to market around the globe.
The company has achieved a considerable pedigree in just eight years - with its clothing now available from 500 outlets in 10 countries and currently breaking into the key United States market.
Icebreaker's most recent innovation has been to obtain its merino wool directly from a select group of 30 South Island high country stations.
This means the company has control over the product from the sheep's back to the sales rack.
The Business Club, hosted by the Auckland Regional Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Telecom, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard, is a series of 11 free nationwide business forums designed to give growing New Zealand businesses the tools and practical advice they need to succeed.
The club provides opportunities for small and medium-sized business managers to share ideas, network and learn more about the latest business and technology trends.
Thursday's event is open to all businesspeople and will be held at the Ellerslie Convention Centre from 3pm to 7pm.
