Slingshot service

Internet service provider Slingshot has launched a home-installation service aimed at customers new to broadband.

The Man in a Van service has been developed in partnership with mobile computer technicians Geeks on Wheels to provide support for new and existing customers.

The company will charge $49.95 for complete broadband installation or use the service to assist customers with queries that cannot be answered by the helpdesk.

The service will initially be restricted to Auckland, where 65 per cent of Slingshot's customers live.
