Three big property conferences are coming up in Auckland dealing with design, laws and planning.
The New Zealand Institute of Architects' annual conference at the Viaduct Events Centre from February 10 to 12 is called in:situ and will focus on physical and intellectual, geographical and typological, social and historical architecturalissues.
The keynote speaker is Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto who designed the Serpentine Pavilion in London's Hyde Park and is working on projects around Europe and Asia.
The second conference is on some of the most contentious legal issues including subdivision, cross leases, ground leases, compulsory acquisition and conveyancing at the Auckland District Law Society's half-day conference on February 24 at the Ellerslie Event Centre. Topics include developing greater awareness of common access lots and easements, territorial authorities' expectations, and the role of surveyors in consents.
From April 13 to 17, the NZ Planning Institute is holding its national conference at the Aotea Centre. Speakers will include Auckland Council chief planner Roger Blakeley, Canadian author Charles Montgomery and Britain's Tim Stonor.
