Pacific Edge boss has taste of his own medicine

Pacific Edge Biotechnology chairman Trevor Scott has unwittingly been testing his company's products.

Scott is in remission from bladder cancer, a cancer for which PEB has developed a test for early diagnosis and prognosis.

He went through the traditional route of diagnosing and monitoring the cancer and treatment, but was also part of PEB's validation work for its test based on a urine sample.

The PEB-developed process confirmed the hospital findings but without the intrusive and painful biopsies, hospital stays and cost.

"It has shown me we have got something. It has highlighted the fact that if we can get through the next stage we do have a valuable product."
