Power prices are an ongoing worry for many people, who are holding back heating their home in a bid to cut back on the power bill, a new survey shows.
A Consumer NZ survey showed 38 per cent of people surveyed said their homes were not as warm as they would like to be because they were restricting their energy use.
Asked how much they tried to reduce their power bill, the results were:
• 16 per cent said not at all,
• 29 per cent said sometimes,
• 41 per cent all the time and
• 14 per cent were neutral.
Sixty-two per cent of participants said they were concerned living in rental accommodation were more likely to be keeping an eye on costs.
