The lease of a South Island sheep station four times the size of Waiheke Island has come up for sale.
Mt White near Arthur's Pass is 40,000ha, compared to the Hauraki Gulf island's 9324ha.
The station has been the subject of a book The Legend Of Mt White Station,' by Gerald Sandrey but now Shane O'Brien of Colliers is advertising it.

"Mt White really is big. It's predominantly pastoral lease so it's a Crown lease in perpetuity, not freehold. The annual rent is about $31,000," he said.
The station has been owned Turnbull family since 1924.
