Contract let for Kupe development wells

Ensco Oceanics has been appointed to drill three development wells in the Kupe gas and oil field.

The contract also includes options to drill up to three more wells either on Kupe or elsewhere.

The field's operator, Origin Energy, said drilling would start in the first half of next year and take about six months.
